Gulfside Regional Hospice Receives Non-Profit Of The Year Award��

Gulfside Regional Hospice was named the 2011 Non-profit of the Year by the Tampa Bay Business Journal at a luncheon held on June 23.
The luncheon featured 40 finalists in seven distinctive fields – Arts, Culture and Humanities; Crisis Resources; Education; Environment and Animals; Family Services; Health Services; and Public and Societal Benefit.
Gulfside Regional Hospice also received the category award for Health Services.
“Gulfside Regional Hospice is humbled to win this prestigious award. We are proud to serve the community with all of the non-profits and finalists in Tampa Bay,” said Linda Ward, Gulfside’s president and CEO. Gulfside Regional Hospice surpassed more than 250 Tampa Bay non-profits vying for this award – a record-breaking number according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal. This was the Journal’s seventh year recognizing local nonprofit organizations that are making a difference in the greater Tampa Bay area each day.
“By winning this award, Gulfside Regional Hospice hopes that hospice awareness in the community will increase,” said Ward. “Our team and staff are dedicated end-of-life professionals providing very essential care to all of our patients and their loved ones. The staff at Gulfside is all about the “We” and “Team” in everything that we do, as we provide for others in need.”
In addition to the recognition of winning the award, Gulfside Regional Hospice received prizes valued at over $30,000 including a $2,500 check from The Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, computer monitors, a full Information systems and technology assessment, and advertising on HART buses that travel through the Tampa Bay area.
Gulfside Regional Hospice, established as a nonprofit corporation in Pasco County in 1988 and initially licensed in 1989, serves more than 300 patients daily. GRH employs over 250 professionals and has more than 550 volunteers, and is the only hospice that serves Pasco County exclusively.
