Extreme ER Makeover At Pasco Regional Medical Center: Construction To Begin On Major Emergency Room Expansion��

Pasco Regional Medical Center held a ground breaking today to kick-off construction of its multi-million dollar ER expansion. To better serve its community, Pasco Regional is nearly tripling the size of its current ER space and doubling the number of exam rooms. Construction is expected to begin in March. Ralph Crumpton, Senior Project Manager with M.J. Harris, Inc., the hospital’s contractor, expects the project to take approximately 275 days to complete.
This Extreme ER Makeover will consist of three phases. Phase I begins with the addition of 8,400 square feet to include 17 exam rooms for trauma, orthopedics, pediatrics and more. Also included in Phase I will be an imaging suite, decontamination zone, triage station, nurse’s station, EMS lounge, registration/patient welcome area, and patient/guest lounge. Phase I also includes designated ambulance bays for easy EMS access along with public canopies for convenient access to the ER.
Phases II and III include renovation of the existing 4,300 square foot emergency room. Renovations of this area will add consultation suites, a staff lounge, nurse’s station, and storage space.
As the only designated Primary Stroke Center in East Pasco County, Pasco Regional Medical Center understands the importance of providing prompt and timely treatment to its patients.
The Extreme ER Makeover will further enhance Pasco Regional Medical Center’s operational efficiencies. Other enhancements include the addition of electronic medical records and a dedicated CT scanner within the emergency department.
