Story and Photo by Willa WarrenSun and Moon Yoga Studio located at 14522 7th Street in Dade City is expanding with new classes to please the body, mind and soul. You can still join more than a dozen yoga classes each week, including a new Hatha flow class on Monday evenings at 7 pm. These yoga classes cater to every physical type from honored seniors who like it very slow and easy, to the younger folks who can still tie themselves in knots. Now you can also try your hand (feet?) at a dance class or two at the studio. Wrapping up in October is the last of a ballroom dance workshop that ran for 6 weeks, and will surely run again after the New Year. Starting on Monday September 27th at 5:30 pm Sun and Moon has a brand new Modern Dance class taught by Lauren Farley, a fifteen year veteran and graduate of Blackwood’s Dance Studio. Dancing since she was four, Lauren describes her class as “Sort of what you would get if you crossed jazz with yoga and dance, it also includes gentle stretching, and will be fun!” Sounds like a new way to express ourselves! The studio has also added a second Zumba Class. Now on Tuesdays at 7 pm as well as the popular 6 pm class on Wednesdays. The Zumba gang is expanding! Taught by Diana Echeverri, the Zumba classes are exciting dancing - full of aerobic exercise, which incorporates fitness movements and really flexes our bodies! Diane came to us from Columbia via Alaska where she taught Latin dance to the Eskimos! She has been teaching Latin dance for eleven years but has now been immersed in the Zumba for 2 years and makes the classes really fun to do! So if a dance experience is something you have wanted to do, now is the time to sign up for a new class! For more information on any class call Nancy at 352-424-3079. Or stop by the studio anytime to pluck a schedule right off the front door!Remember! Keep to your yoga/dance schedule through the Holidays and your load will seem much lighter as you take time to nurture and refresh yourself
