Carriage Gate - Dreams Do Come True

Carriage Gate Morgans, Dade City’s newest full service boarding, training and lesson facility is open for business. It is located at 36742 Christian Road, Dade City, FL 33523.
Carriage Gate Morgans is the lifetime dream of Cheryl Gonzalez, Owner/Head Trainer. Cheryl has over 30 years of experience in riding, driving and showing a number of quality horses. She has earned the respect of her peers in the horse-world through her dedication to continued learning, and in her ability to pass on her knowledge to others under her direction.
Cheryl started riding at an early age, and has developed solid skills in multiple disciplines, including saddle seat, dressage and carriage driving. She showed Morgan horses early in her career, with a focus on saddle seat riding. She continued her education by participating in breeding and foaling at the farm where she was trained. In the mid-1990’s she was recruited to teach riding and driving lessons to beginners. In time, Cheryl realized that she needed to follow her dream of running her own business, and with a small number of students already under her direction she opened Carriage Gate Morgans at a boarding facility in the Tampa area.
Cheryl has continued to pursue her dream of building a business where she could pass on her knowledge, experience and passion for all things horse related. In December 2010, Cheryl bought her own farm in Dade City, FL and her business has moved fully to this location.
Carriage Gate Morgans offers a quiet, non-competitive atmosphere for students with varied ability levels and individual goals to gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of horses.
Students seeking to improve their relationship and overall performance of their own horses or who wish to have fun learning with one of the patient and gentle “teaching horses” owned by Carriage Gate Morgans will benefit from our lesson program.
We enjoy working with a variety of equestrian disciplines including dressage, saddle seat, carriage driving, pleasure riding, pleasure driving, western, and trail.

We also offer full boarding and training options for all breeds of horses.
While our focus isn’t as a show barn, we are happy to help our students follow that path should they wish to do so.
Carriage Gate Morgans is home to a number of Morgans with show records including multiple time Champions of FMHA Carriage High Point, FMHA Dressage High Point, FMHA Sport Horse Championship and numerous Combined Driving awards, and Reserve Champion placings. Horses and students in training compete in and out of Florida.
We have increased growth in horses in training, as well as in our student program using lesson horses of various breeds. We strive to maintain a positive environment for all of our students and horses alike. All levels of students and all breeds of horses are welcome.
We are happy to announce that we are offering a Summer Horse Camp in June. This camp is open to children ages 10+, beginners and above. Activities will include a riding or driving lesson, as well as hands on horse fun, arts and crafts and more. Registration is open for the weeks of June 6th, June 13th and June 20th. Camp is limited to 8 students per week, and will run Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each week. Weekly and daily rates are available. Register by May 27th to secure your spot.
