Sunrise To Host Summer Youth Leadership Initiative
Tuesday, June 7, 2011
Youth from across Pasco County are invited to participate in a youth leadership initiative this summer at Sunrise Domestic and Sexual Violence Center.
The purpose of the summer initiative is to help students to learn about preventing dating and intimate partner violence, learn communication and healthy relationship skills, gain an opportunity to work with other youth, learn in depth leadership skills, and to have an opportunity to develop a community project.
Students will meet once a week for 10 weeks starting June 15 through August 17.
Meetings will be held at the Sunrise Domestic and Sexual Violence Center administration office located in Dade City, Fl.
Current Pasco County youth enrolled in grades 5 through 12 (during the 2010-2011 school year) are invited to participate. Parent or guardian permission will be required.
This initiative will provide youth with a unique opportunity to make a difference in their community. For more information, please contact Christina Bates, Social Change Community Organizer, at (352) 521-3358.
