Youth Week Celebrations at San Antonio Citizens FCU
Wednesday, April 27, 2011
Each year, the third week in April is celebrated as National Credit Union Youth Week. Credit Unions nationwide focus
on the youth in their membership and community to financially educate and introduce them to the credit union way of
banking. This year’s theme “Money Rocks at my Credit Union” brought its usual element of FUN. San Antonio Citizens
Federal Credit Union held a Coloring Contest for its young members. The winners are pictured above with their
winning entries. Each of them received a “Money Rocks at my Credit Union” T-shirt, a cup of goodies including the
2007 Inaugural Year Presidential Coin Collection and a Piggy Bank. Also during Youth Week, The Tampa Chapter of
Credit Unions held a Pizza Party for The Boys and Girls Club at the Lewis Abraham Lacoochee Unit. Pizza and sodas
were the treat along with a surprise from San Antonio Citizens FCU. They presented the club with gifts from their
“wish list”, an Xbox Kinects Gaming System and two Dance Games, keeping with the Week’s musical theme of “Money
Rocks at my Credit Union”. Each child also received a party favors of mood pencils/silly bandz and coloring sheets.
Tim Baldwin - President, Carrie Zappulla, Deanna Gude and Jill Evans (all from SACFCU) and Teresa McDougal,
President of The Tampa Chapter of Credit Unions, hosted the event for Michael Brittingham and all of his boys and
girls, 50 in attendance! The children were very appreciative and couldn’t wait to hook up the games. This was a fun
and rewarding way to celebrate Youth Week!
