Volunteer Recruitment Drive for HPH Hospice
Wednesday, August 11, 2010
HPH Hospice (HPH) will host an orientation for new volunteers age 17 and older from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24 and Thursday, August 26. The recruitment emphasis is on serving as a resident comforter to HPH patients who reside in private homes or at the hospice’s Dade City Hospice Care Center or Hospice House. The two-day orientation will take place at the HPH office located at 37445 Clinton Ave., Dade City and will offer a thorough education of HPH programs, services and one’s role as a resident comforter. After successfully completing orientation, volunteers will provide companionship to patients and much-needed respite for family caregivers. HPH asks that volunteers contribute four hours per week. Hours are flexible. Pre-registration is required by calling Diana Unger, volunteer coordinator, at (813) 780-6797. HPH is a not-for-profit agency that provides care, comfort and support to individuals and families affected by a life-limiting illness regardless of their ability to pay. The agency is now in its 26th year and serves about 500 Pasco County residents daily.
