Mrs. Perkins was known as “Elgie” by her friends.  Elgie was born June 10, 1921 in East Kingston, New Hampshire and she passed away on August 18th, 2014 in Zephyrhills, Florida.   Elgie was a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine in New Port Richey for many years, and transferred to Cairo Court in the year 2000, where she was very active in sewing items for the children of the Shrine Hospital and was a member of the Clown Unit.

A highlight of the occasion was when Mr. Perkins shared stories of his life with Elgie during a luncheon which followed the service.  He told those gathered that he and his wife had been married by a clown, and had walked through a balloon archway on their wedding day.  Mr. Perkins specifically requested that members of the Cairo Court #97 Clown Unit dress in their clown costumes for the memorial service, and it was a fitting tribute to this wonderful lady.  Elgie touched the lives of many, and will be missed dearly.
