Thomas’ Promise Van Making our Delivery

Our “Feed the Children” program launched on 6/5/17 and this program will continue through 8/11/17 when the children return to school.  The home cooked, nutritious meals are served Monday through Friday and the families are provided weekend food and milk.   There are no questions asked of the participants; after school took its break for the summer many of these children would not have breakfast or lunch.  We have started off the ground running with 238 fed on the first week and on the end of the second week we fed a total of 507 children and families.  This is our 3rd annual season for this program and again, we could not do this without our partnerships with Thomas Promise, all the City affiliates, Westbrook Manor, Elks Lodge with its members, volunteers & ALL the contributions.  Grandma Mason offers the children a trip to the “Treasure Box” after they eat their meal.

This year’s program introduced visitors that come in to work with the children (Alyson, Westbrook Manor), contributions of new or barely used books, Officer Friendly Sheriff’s department of Pasco County of Community Services and we have lined up guest speakers from the Zephyrhills Police department, Zephyrhills Fire department, local medical and informative services for the families and children.  We have readers that read to the children, the children are encouraged to borrow a book to return the next week or keep it if they’d like.  We also have a WWI veteran who is 99 years old that offers “free grandpa hugs”.

We are located at 6851 Wire Road, Zephyrhills Elks Lodge #2731.  Please inform those in need of our services.

We could not provide this service without YOU and all the contributions we receive.  Checks made can be payable to BPOE #2731 or cash to Nick in the office.
