Second Tuesday – Florida Native Plant Society
The Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM at The Land O’ Lakes Community Center, 5401 Land O’ Lakes Blvd/US 41, Land O’ Lakes, 34639, between SR 52 and SR 54. Meetings of the Chapter are free, and all interested parties are invited to attend, to bring questions about their yard, and participate in light refreshments and the native plant drawing. If you or someone you care about is affected by heart disease, Florida Hospital Zephyrhills (FHZ) invites you to attend its monthly Heartbeat Support Group from 3 pm to 4 pm on Wednesday, July 26, in the CREATION® Health Wellness Center’s Education Room located at 38233 Daughtery Road.
July 27 – Aviation Open House
Pasco Hernando State College will host the official open house for its new Aviation Program on Thursday, July 27 from 5 – 7 pm. July 29 – Amaryllis
Roll up your sleeves and come join us for “Family Day” at the library at 5740 Moog Rd., Holiday from 11am – 12pm. We will be demonstrating how to properly pot amaryllis bulbs. August 4 – Health & Safety Fest in Lacoochee
Premier Community HealthCare and community partners will host their 4th Annual Back to School Health & Safety Fest on Saturday from 9am-Noon at the Lacoochee Boys & Girls Club at Stanley Park, 38724 Mudcat Grant Blvd., Dade City. August 5 – 4th Annual APTacious Experience
The first Saturday of August, Time to APT offers an Empowerment day. The 4th Annual APTacious Experience is Saturday from 8:30am – 4:00pm at the Holiday Inn Express at 8310 Galbraith Road, New Tampa. The event will feature keynote speakers, great food, break-out sessions, musical entertainment, door prizes and more. Whether you need support in understanding the emotion of anger or can offer your own perspective, share your experience. The APTacious Experience also offers financial support to the nonprofit organization Bricks 4 Kidz Wesley Chapel, which offers children programs to learn through play. August 5 – Health & Safety Fest
Lewis Abraham Lacoochee Boys & Girls Club-Stanley Park, 38724 Mudcat Grant Blvd, Dade City is hosting a FREE Back to School Health and Safety Event from 9am-Noon. Free Backpacks to the first 250 students. There will be free refreshments, giveaways, entertainment, face painting, hula hoop contest and school physicals. August 9 – Open House at Keiser University
Keiser University is hosting a Back to School Open House on Saturday from 5 pm to 8 pm at each of its campuses. The Lakeland campus is located at 2400 Interstate Drive, Lakeland. August 12 – San Antonio Farmer’s Market
“Dog Days in the Park” is the theme for August’s Farmer’s Market. Vendors will have pet related items for sale. Well-behaved and leashed pets are welcome in the city park. Contact Winnie Burke, Rotary Club President for more information. 352-437-5161.
September 16 – Robert D. Sumner Memorial Golf Tournament
The event will be held on September 16th at Silverado Golf & Country Club, Zephyrhills. Begining with an 8:30 am shotgun start. The fee is $50 per player and will be a 4 player scramble. The pro shop can pair individuals to make a team if needed. The player fee includes golf, golf cart and lunch. Prize packs will be available the morning of the event for $20 each (cash only). Prize pack contains 4 closest to the pin, 1 long drive, 1 closest to the line, two mulligans and two drink tickets. There will be a silent auction, door prizes, 50/50 tickets and much more.
