Second Tuesday – Florida Native Plant Society
The Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM at The Land O’ Lakes Community Center, 5401 Land O’ Lakes Blvd/US 41, Land O’ Lakes, 34639, between SR 52 and SR 54. The subject of the Tuesday, July 11, 2017 meeting is “Forensic Botany: How Bad Guys Can Bark Up the Wrong Tree”, presented by David W. Hall, Ph.D. Meetings of the Chapter are free, and all interested parties are invited to attend, to bring questions about their yard, and participate in light refreshments and the native plant drawing. June 29 – Guns and Coolers Bash
Hosted by Ducks Unlimited and Al’s Famous Pizza, funds raised will go towards wetland preservation. Doors open at 6pm at 11931 Curley St. in San Antonio. July 25 – Air Potato Management Workshop
This workshop has been designed for home and property owners seeking information on control of the invasive air potato plant. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Sciences will provide air potato beetles as door prizes. Air potato beetles are an exceptionally effective method of control for the air potato plant without harm to other species. Note: we cannot guarantee everyone will receive air potato beetles.
